The star of Hanwha’s victory was starting pitcher Felix Peña, who tossed six shutout innings. The offense was also able to score runs when they needed to.

The day before, Hanwha was scoreless until the fourth inning. They didn’t even manage a single hit against NC starter Lee Jae-hak.

Hanwha then had runners on first and second with no outs when Lee tried to lay down a sacrifice bunt, which shook up the NC infield. First baseman Do Tae-hoon, who caught the bunt, threw to third, but it was safe, and shortstop Kim Joo-won’s throw back to first went wide.

Jang Jin-hyuk, who was safe at third base, took advantage of the gap and raced home to give Hanwha the lead.

Choi Jae-hoon then walked and Jang Jin-hyuk hit a sacrifice fly to make it 5-0.
